Polymerization

Polymers-giant molecules made up of many repeating units called monomers.

Addition polymerization, also called polyaddition or chain growth polymerization. The monomers double bond opens up to form a continuous chain.

Styrene polymerization

Condensation Polymerization- A condensation polymer can be defined as a polymer in which the structural unit contains fewer atoms than the monomer or monomers from which the polymer is derived. There must be an elimination of a by-product, usually water.

example #1- the product is not water but HCl
